Hello everyone,
I have not done any marketing for ZapRead. The website is under major development and there are many features still being added. But, word of mouth does happen and I still welcome anyone who wants to "join early" to help find bugs and give feedback. (I should add a new achievement for this! "early user"). There is already the bug finder achievement .
More importantly, we need more people who can contribute their skills to contribute code (ZapRead is open source!). If you submit code which is merged in, you get the (rare) developer achievement . (If you are good at making graphics - please send me some nicer icons for achievements too!
Here is some information about visitors to ZapRead. In the last month, there were 540 unique users.
If you look at visitors on the week of September 22, 20% of them were visiting again over 3 weeks later. That means that somewhere between 1 in 5-10 users (at that time) become active visitors on the site. Given the "early" state of ZapRead, that is not too bad I think. I would like to get that up. So I'd like to hear from you:
- How did you find out about ZapRead to visit,
- What can be done to increase the chance that users will join and become active?
Well, it seems to me that Zapread will be slowly entering the phase of increasing the number of users. It's getting better and better with each update (although of course there are some improvements to be made).
Unfortunately, I won't help with programming, because PHP Master Race :P
I personally think about attracting people to do some things:
1) Entry to services like reddit.com or publish0x.com showing in a professional way what Zapread is, why it is worth using it, how it differs from the platform with tips, etc.
2) I would buy a service on microlancer.io, in which we would give upvote for 100 satoshi or something. By the way, it would be possible to describe the service (I can sponsor such a thing depending on the users)
3) We can introduce federal decentralization by adding ActivityPub protocol
https://github.com/jfmcbrayer/Kroeg
It is possible that we would gain some of the Mastodon users and other platforms based on this protocol.
4) And, of course, encourage people around us ;)
5) On Reddit and everywhere you can promote good posts - for example, the project of the satellite from Spacerik.
