This makes it look so simple... a lot of time needed! Im afraid btc will fail because people are not interested enough in freedom as seen in data protection all the time.

I've seen an ad, not so long ago, it said: "Friends don't let friends get tracked".
We all just have to get our friends and family into decentralization, crypto(-currencies/-graphy) & privacy.
Once they all know what we are talking about, decentralization will become normal, as they will understand the reasons and benefits.
Also with LN, imo, BTC is (soon) beating traditional money in really every aspect.
I mean maybe its the right thing to do but I dont plan to be "the weird btc guy" even if it would be just out of pure egoism.... the same as I dont want to be bothered by vegans or religious people who all believe theyre helping you or make the world a better place in general! Vegans have a point I see at least.
I only address friends around who are already technical in everyday life, like studied informatics or at least know how to program since I hope they could get hooked and actually understand something. Forcing an adoption through grandmas could damage the whole "making the world a better place through decentralisation"
At the all time high of 2017 I had quite some friends asking me some financial questions about BTC but NOT A SINGLE technical one..... most asked was: how much do you own/did you made etc...
"Once they all know what we are talking about" I have quite some doubt in the possibilty of this case for the next 5 years at least.... I just dont think people care enough or even if they do are educated enough :,(
I like to discuss BTC in terms of an economic experiment with people. It's not about boring them about how the cryptography works, but what it means for your daily economics. We don't know what happens in a stable deflationary economy, for example. I also discuss the views of Austrian and Keynesian economics and how that also relates to BTC. Privacy of money also is an example, and I think most people find it interesting to learn that BTC is more traceable than cash.
Basically - I discuss it subtly, planting seeds of thought in their heads. I don't try to "convert" anyone, but I'm always ready to help them make their first purchase if they ask.
Agreed. (especially because I have no special education in cryptography... maybe just enough to grasp the concept of btc)
"economic experiment" Exactly! WIth friends I alreaddy named the whole project "biggest macro economical experiment so far" and that it reaches into a lot more fields by today already and stabilizing every single day! The experiment point of view is a way better motivation than this "investing". Knowledge of Austrian and Keynesian (also Adam Smith, using egoism of people for the best of everyone - a key of bitcoin- ) economics makes some discussions a lot easier because no basic market principles are unknown but on the other hand some of the most "basic" principles lose their ground in the new paradigm that btc creates or might create.
As you said: Will there ever be a stable deflationary economy at all ? (I question the stable in this sentence)
An evergrowing economy like today with interest and normal yearly growth of the GDP will not be possible with BTC as world currency (imo) but people choose btc anyways to flee inflation.
Ik what you're talking about. But as Zelgada said in his comment, most people find some aspects of BTC interesting.
I hope I remember to read your comment again and answer to more parts when I have time, gtg.
EDIT:
The best way I can think of spreading BTC is by actually spreading it (as a birthday present).
I've got that idea from @derKUEKeN. Actually having BTC kinda forces you to learn about it.
Also, back then, people were called weird (and killed...) for saying the earth is not flat.
So probably one shouldn't care about being "the weird btc guy". I am "the paranoid guy", I try not to care.
Presenting it as a birthday present is too pushing for my taste (because you have to accept presents) but I already paid back some little everyday lendings of money(after discussing it first + it makes it more a currency and not some present with value) .... some $20 here and there. From my personal experience most people say no at first but think about it later...
The quote came out wrong ^^ I meant I dont want to annoy my friends or family with always the same topic or lecturing about something I'm interested in but they only listen to because they like me! If that makes more sense...
A btc is a nice christmas present +1 but to a non technical person you just burned a coin so thanks for more deflation ;)
