Awesome! I keep some coins on a wallet just waiting for a business which accepts bitcoin. They will get my business if I see that sticker.
Of course! I'm trying to do my best to promote Bitcoin and LN adoption here in Venice Island!!!
I am also working on that. That's why I've created ZapRead. Lots of people have received their first Bitcoin on here. It's a great way to introduce people to Bitcoin. Especially if they earned the bitcoin themselves for their content/efforts!
Next time I'm in Venice, I'll have to look for Bitcoin stores. I was in Pisa a few weeks ago and forgot to check for adoption there.
Now you can do some stuff. Drink and eat at Osteria Ruga di Jaffa. Purchase some jewelry at Gioielleria Dogale. Come to Venice and text me!!!
Here's the reddit thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/dlvokv/how_i_lost_4_btc_on_lightning_network/
The cause seems to be the power data fault.
In addition the user didn't know the right way to do the backup.
So guys...if you use LND, how do you backup?
What I do:
-> In case of data corruption or power fault i DO NOT reuse the .lnd directory but I recreate it from scratch with the SEED
-> Once the wallet is initialized, I import the channel with importchanbackup
-> On my system I check if channels.db is changed (MD5sum on the file) and IF YES then I export the channels with exportchanbackup on a safe device.
Do you think this is correct?
Any other advices?
Thanks
This was confirmed as fud. You need to be very incompetent to lose that much. Just keep backup of seed and static channel backup. Make sure they're up to date and don't do anything when in doubt. Ask an expert.
It is always worth having a watchtower bought.
(With love)
Hello guys,
I'm trying to manually rebalancing my channels with LND
I'm using
lncli sendtoroute but I found it very hard to understand. I can obtain a json with available routes with:
lncli queryroutes --dest $REMOTEPUBKEY --amt $AMOUNT
But how can I pass a defined route to sendtoroute command? I always have this error:
[lncli] unable to unmarshal json string from incoming array of routes: invalid character 'r' looking for beginning of value
Are you able to use this lnd function?
Can you help me? thanks in advice!
I used some rebalancing tools on both LND and c-lightning. Even built this web service: https://kriptode.com/balnr/index.html
Try c-otto's rebalance tool on github. It should give you an idea.
Sorry, I'm of no help here - I've never tried to do this. If I see anything I'll let you know. Let me know if you get it working.
Interesting message board. If you are able to do a bit of development, I invite you to help out also with ZapRead. Vice-versa, is your website open source?
Thanks for your response, boss. Unfortunately I don't believe I would be good as you at programming...
ZapRead has a great potential.
The Lightning Wall is written in PHP and since I still don't know the way to choose I didn't put the code on github, but who knows...
:)
I don't believe I would be good as you at programmingThat doesn't matter! You can also just improve small things around the site, clean up HTML, and importantly - learn. All you need to do is fork the repository and start poking around. when you want to submit something, just use github and do a pull request and I'll review the code, fix it up if needed, and merge it in.
At the very least, you are invited to contribute documentation or improvements to other parts of the website like FAQ and about.
Hello guys,
I've a question for you. Maybe you can help me.
I'm using lnd-0.5.2
Is there a way to avoid the payment if fees exceed a certain amount or percentage of the payment?
I didn't find anything about this but I think that a node could cheat and set higher fees to earn more or to empty my node.
Thanks
Good question. I don't know. I believe c-lightning has something like this.
I suppose you can do a route query first and see what the fee is and not pay if it is too high.
Hello Boss and thanks for your reply.
Did you have problems like this with your zapread? Am I paranoid about this?
I keep track of fees. So far, it's not bad. Here is a screenshot from the admin panel:
Hello guys, I hope this is the right group but I try...
I'm configuring a BTCPay server hosted on btcpayjungle.com with my personal LND node.
In the connection string I use:
But I always get this error:
You are not authorized to use macaroonfilepath
Can anybody help me?
Thanks!
The process does not have access to root folder (I suspect). Put the macaroon somewhere accessible to the process running BTCPay.
Welcome to Zapread, mate!
I've created an Italian group, if you want to join:
