What is this?

This is a list of some of my favorite shortcuts when using Windows 10.  When I'm in a hurry, you can get a lot more done by using shortcuts to move around faster.  It's not a complete list, but I find these ones handy.

The Start / Windows Button

Some of the handiest shortcuts are using the windows button.

❖ + D
Show the desktop
❖ + SHIFT + S
Screen snip tool.  Drag a rectangle to save that portion of your screen to the clipboard
❖ + G

Game mode.

  • Lots of useful information such as CPU usage.
  • Capture audio, video, and screenshots
  • Chat with others on voice
  • Link your spotify account.
❖ + R

Start recording video.

Control Shortcuts

These shortcuts are probably the most commonly used.

CTRL + CCopy selected content (text, image) to the clipboard.
CTRL + XCut selected content (text, image) to the clipboard.
CTRL + VPaste selected content at current cursor location.
CTRL + SHIFT + VPaste content without formatting (i.e. Paste as Text).  I found that this one does not work everywhere.  It's pretty handy to prevent accidentally copying a script or something malicious from a website into the clipboard.

That's all I have for now.  I'll come back and update this post as I think of others.
