Łubin (Lupinus L.) - a genus of plants belonging to the family of fabaceae. It has about 200 species. The largest variation in species occurs in North America, the range of some species also includes Andes in South America. In the Mediterranean area there are mainly annual plants (subgenus Lupinus) reaching for South-West Asia. Plants of this type usually inhabit dune and desert habitats - dry, sandy or stony, as well as grass communities. Some species are grown as fodder plants, rich in proteins. Numerous species, however, are poisonous due to the content of alkaloids. Photographs taken on June 10, 2019, Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska.
