The Canadian Football League pre-season began on Thursday June 6 with three games between traditional rivals. Toronto Argonauts defeated the nearby Hamilton Tiger-Cats in their home stadium by a score of 30-23. Ottawa Red Blacks tied Montreal Alouettes at 20 each and Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated Saskatchewan Rough Riders 35-29 to disappoint the home crowd. These were followed up on Friday by the visiting Calgary Stampeders losing to the British Columbia Lions by a score of 38-36. Edmonton Eskimos had the by for the week. All four games decided by one possession or less.
The CFL, where no lead is safe, is back for 2019. Fans of exciting summer football rejoice!
